Where:
I am really fond of wearing sarees and in my earlier posts I have always mentioned my never ending love for sarees. Not only I like different kinds of sarees but also love creating different ways of wearing them.
After I created this style, I thought of the name double saree, as you can see I have used two sarees here. But then I thought, ‘let me google it, as there is a half saree there should be a double saree too…right!?!’ And Voila!Guess what! There is!
But I like my style better on me, as I am not into too much of pinning and clipping. I love the fluid fabric.
Both the sarees have a very special place in my heart, as yellow one is my wedding saree (I took my vows in it) and the blue one belongs to my mum in law which she gifted me as a blessing. I wanted to wear my yellow saree for the Indian festival of married women, karwachauth.
Loved the contrasting colors and thought of combining both into this style. Luckily both are very light and shorter in length as compared to 6-9 yards sarees. So, here is the look.
Yellow saree I tied around on a skirt with pleats all around and then made 6 main saree pleats in front. Blue one I started with 6 saree pleats in front and then draped it around as a regular saree. Again, lighter material helped. Chiffon is the best bet as the material is light and clingy, so has that slimming effect.
I love how it turned out. I hope you like it too.
When:
Any time you would like to be that extra festive.
