Not a big fan of walking on the rocky paths, but have realized that whenever I come back after hiking I feel a change, I mean apart from all the soreness I feel rejuvenated. All those ups and downs are actually worth it. This one was at South Mountains State Park, North Carolina.
An awesome place to hike with several options. We picked Chestnut Knob trail it was a hard hike so we came across less people, good for Covid times. But there are many easy-moderate trails too.
Also, if not interested in hiking you have plenty of other stuff to do. One can go to the waterfall, chill around the mountain stream, do fishing, camping, or as simple as doing a picnic. We went for a day trip but would love to go back to explore more.
