Why:
I love fusion whether it is clothes or words. No idea if springomantic exists. Hey! did my google search and only my insta tag appeared with this word. Well, as the word suggests spring + romantic= springomantic.
The outfits, colors, and styles that show freshness and make you feel as if you are walking out of a fairy tale is what I will call springomantic.
So, inspired by that concept I have tried to create this look over here.
I wore this look to a Valentine’s Party, I don’t take pics the same day and I recreated the look so you might find improvisations here and there.
How:
This is a fusion look. I wore black wide legged pants with a beautiful black satin ruffled crop top, and I accessorized the look with this beautiful saree. Black and pink look really romantic together with ruffles to throw in, oh my my what a fab combination!
Lots of safety pins are required to secure the pleats and drape in place. So, if you think of wearing this style keep safety pins handy.
You start with the drape portion or pallu, secure it on the left shoulder, keep the length longer to give it a veil kind of look and also this will keep your pleats not too thick.
If you know how to wear saree you will know how to make pleats too, but then you have to split the pleats after making it, so that one is tucked in facing your right side and the other is tucked in facing your left side, it will make a flat pleat in the middle which you need to overlap while tucking in. Reason why I did it this way, was because in my saree and mostly all the sarees if the border is embroidered or sewn separately on the saree it is not all the way till the end and when you tuck in the pleats it doesn’t look neat in these half saree styles, and looks like an undone piece. Just a suggestion, you can do what works for you. In the drape portion of the saree I have pinned the two borders in two places in the front to give it a pre-stitched look. I like my saree having a flowing look, but if you like to pin it up all the way, it is your choice.
Georgette and Chiffons are the best bets for this style.
Another way- if you have a gorgeous dupatta or Indian stole this is a great style to show them off, easier to wear too.
When:
For a Valentine look!
