“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” -Maya Angelou
Finding my earth where I can stand and be myself!
Since I was a child I had this inherent inclination towards clothes and putting together stuff to bring out an outfit. I use to love dressing up my doll. Creating dresses for my doll with the help of my mom and grandma and sometimes visiting aunts or just needling some outfit myself. My doll had a lehanga, black velvet gown, white chandini suit, pink woolen bell bottom pants, matching poncho, and maybe more I don’t remember, everything hand made. So clearly styling brings me joy and peace.
Just the way a particular ingredient used by a chef creates a magic and sets him apart from the rest, the same way personal style creates a magic in the way one dresses.
I feel fashion and style are two different things. Fashion is extrinsic and style is intrinsic. Style is your whole being, how you sit, talk, and carry yourself.
Let the inner style be the guide. Thus, I decided to give my blog the very name it has.
Would like to quote style icon Iris Apfel here, “Fashion you can buy but style you possess.”
And now, I like styling myself and my daughter.
I have started this blog to express my style.
Thank you for joining me!
